The latest in the list of labels that let you buy sustainably, Rewear offers a host of pre-loved designer wear to the conscious shopper
The time is nigh that we all took a good look at how we’re consuming fashion. Sustainability is the need of the hour, and one of the easiest ways to negate the impact of fast fashion is to avoid shopping for new clothes for every occasion. Of course, that doesn’t mean that you let your wardrobe get outdated. Enter Rewear, a recently launched re-commerce service, that helps you consign and purchase pre-owned Indian luxury garments. “We only accept Indian designer wear from select brands, and those that are in a condition that is favourable for immediate wear,” says Vikram Ramchandani, the brand’s founder.
Rewear has a very simple process in play. “For our consignors, we maintain confidentiality, accountability, and absolute simplicity. Besides mentioning the garments they would like to consign and sharing a few images, everything else is taken care of by us. We arrange for either an in-home pick-up within Delhi and Mumbai, or a no-cost pick-up from across the country. We also cover all costs and logistics to help make the garment Rewear-ready for other members. The consignor pays no money upfront, and payments are disbursed (minus fees) directly to their accounts, or for re-purchase with us. They can also redeem vouchers at our many retail partners across the country,” explains Ramchandani.
